One of the greatest writers of the early Church, St. Ephrem defended the faith through hymns, poetry, and biblical commentary. His works taught theology in a way ordinary Christians could understand and remember. The Church honors him as a Doctor for his profound witness to truth and beauty.

St. Landry served as Bishop of Paris in the seventh century and became renowned for his care of the poor during times of famine. Tradition credits him with founding the first hospital in Paris and using Church resources generously to feed the hungry. Known as the "Son of Encouragement," St. Barnabas welcomed and supported many of the Church's earliest converts. One of the Church's most beloved saints, St. Anthony was renowned for his preaching, learning, and care for the poor. His knowledge of Scripture earned him recognition as a Doctor of the Church, while countless miracles spread devotion to him throughout the world. Nearly eight centuries after his death, the faithful still confidently seek his intercession.
