Two little sisters (God willed it so),
Answered the call of life.
One smiling virgin, a God-Man's bride,
And one, a good man's wife.

For one met a man in the twilight
And tendered him her heart;
While one met a Man in a vision,
And chose the "better part."

One maid heard a voice in the starlight,
Whispering, "Will you be mine?"
And one heard a Voice amid candles,
Speaking of things divine.

So two little girls (God's ways are strange),
Tearfully left each other.
One happy maid became a nun,
One pure maid, a mother.
