"Come to us, Holy Spirit, come,
One with the Father and the Son."
A beautiful Catholic prayer to the Holy Spirit, drawn from traditional Breviary hymns and presented on a durable wallet-sized prayer card.
The front features a radiant image of the Holy Spirit represented by the dove, surrounded by descending rays of light, together with the opening words of the prayer. The reverse contains the complete verses, asking the Holy Spirit to dwell within our souls, make our hearts His own, and kindle within us the fire of charity.
Especially fitting for Confirmation and Pentecost, this card is also a beautiful prayer to keep close throughout the year-a reminder to call upon the Holy Spirit for His presence, guidance, and grace.
✝️ THE PRAYER
Come to us, Holy Spirit, come,
One with the Father and the Son,
Vouchsafe to dwell
within our souls
And quickly make
our hearts Thine own.
Let voice and mind,
and heart and strength,
Confess and glorify Thy name,
And let the fire of charity
Burn hot, and other
hearts inflame.
Verses from Breviary Hymns by Bishop Edward Bagshawe, appearing in Rev. F. X. Lasance's Blessed Sacrament Book (1913).
